Shorter, easier to remember names are always recommended.
That, and the inconvenience.
I mean, some parents had to give their kids the pieces in a zip lock bag,
cos they wouldn’t let them see the package.
They were never named “Legos”, they were named “Lego”… or technically LEGO. You can’t pluralize the word.
