Back in the 70s and 80s, when disagreeing with one another, my friends and I would say, “Not in my universe.”

“Whaddaya mean, it’s illegal to make photocopies from copywritten works? Not in my universe!”

I’ve never owned a universe. I’ve never even rented one. I guess I’m just squatting in this one.

That would be “Otherworld” Episode 6, (1985) where domestic men men held “Vorpleware” parties and women ruled society.

String theory proves the multiverse is ruled by cats.

How many people would think of some variation of the Mirror Universe of the Star Trek franchise?

He’s not wrong!

I’ve never seen an alternative universe;

I never hope to see one.

But if they all have “alternative” facts,

I’d be inclined to flee one.

Unfortunately, if they already know the theory, it’s too late to test them.

Is there something wrong with imagining our universe as the first universe?

Another possible comeback would have been, “yes, this is that universe”.
