It’s a little-known fact: Poe originally wrote “.. twas a small yellow bird / a-tapping at my door” But Edgar (we called him “Eddie” when he was in a good mood, which was nearly never) … Edgar’s bird kept saying “I tawt I saw a puddy cat,” so Eddie scrapped the little yellow bird and went with a raven.
