    Yes, the debt is bad, but it isn’t an onrushing tornado. It’s a faraway cliff toward which we are driving. The debt was worse in the 1930s & 1940s, and we had a thriving economy in the 1960s, partly because we had healthy taxes (up to 70%) on the wealthiest Americans.

    ^Ending Medicare Part D. That should be a start.

    Just ran across a Ed Valtman cartoon on the bipartisan funeral for medicare: in 1962!! Install BARGAINING on Part D, and a big cut in costs occur, along with other potential “anti-corporate” potential modifications.
