Those description of auhmud was disgraceful reminds of that sketch from Not the Nine O’ clock News where Rowan Atkinson was a superior remanding his officer for make false reports to get him arrested
I guess the buzzard represents the murderers and the claws represent approximately what drove them to murder. With a background of signs showing some of the ways those claws manifest in English.
The trial had almost as much blatant racism in it as the crime itself. The defense team showed deeply seeded racial hatred hate during a trial about a murder committed over deeply seeded racial hatred. They tried to murder the character of a man who was murdered because of that hate. That’s how racism works and shows just exactly how vile it is.
The lawyers should be brought up on ethics violations.
Right.. you can definitely tell a man’s character by how he dresses and presents himself.. just look at Steve Bannon if you need a well dressed example.
Blazing racism was indeed in the courtroom for all to see and hear. “Long, dirty toenails” If it hadn’t been a vicious murder trial, her inanity would have been a farce worthy of thrown rotten tomatoes. “Lack of ‘Bubba’ men, Anglo-Saxon” i.e. white male racists. Defense was not ever trying to be subtle about their racist attempts to influence the public and the jury. “We don’t want any more Black pastors coming in here” More racist comments. Thank goodness the 11 white jurors were decent, law-abiding people.
I’m not certain I’d want to bet that there’s not three more pardons coming – either from the Georgia governor, or from the “potentially reelected” Orange One.
Kinda late to the parade Steve. Especially considering that the system worked. Your cartoon would be absolutely appropriate had the jury acquitted any of the men. But they didn’t and your imagery and message is not appropriate to this outcome.
The jury verdicts in the Arbery case are cause for celebration. A loud and proud break from the past on display for the world to see. An almost all white jury convicting their white neighbors for a heinous racist crime of hate.
50 years ago it would be impossible. 25 years ago the outcome would have been very much in doubt. Today, well, today the systemic racism that crippled this nation is reduced to a few fringes. These verdicts in this place are living proof of our progress.
The system didn’t work. The verdict was arrived at despite the system, not because of it. Law enforcement worked diligently to avoid a trial and almost succeeded.
Fortunately, there was video, and it got into the right hands, who pushed for a trial. As with George Floyd, no video would have meant no trial.

Nonsense. Ask any American, they are not racist. There was a poll, only 1% voted racist. /S

On the plus side, the defense lawyers’ all-but-one white jury strategy didn’t work.

It almost seems that a lot of people were raised to believe that anyone who is not racist is an unAmerican bigot.
