Finland and Sweden see the writing on the wall, only under collective protection “might”.. they be safe from Russian invasion. A big “might”, NATO is not too keen on taking on Russia either.

Just got to ask that we please don’t try to make Sweden and Finland look like it’s only fear that is all of a sudden driving them to NATO. Those countries are simply fed up with an overweight, grumpy, moth-eaten bear growling and farting on the other side of a fence. Just looking to have a larger broom to swat it in the face if it begins to climb over their fence I’d bet. I’d think that either country would royally stick it to the ever so high quality and stature of Rootin’ Tootin’ Shootin’ & Lootin’ Pootin’s conscript clowns. They’re more like backwoods teenage wannabe thugs that elite troops. Make no doubt that they are incredibly dangerous to unarmed civilians, especially against old folks, young women, and small children but against a well trained army? I doubt they brought enough clean underwear. Bloody hell, this is what y’all get when a fascist crazy man sends backwoods hatefilled peckerwoods that y’all have lied to their whole lives out to wreck havoc. They can’t do diddly squat against warriors so they rape and pillage and massacre the innocent. Damned fascists.

Finland’s problem (potentially) is that it was until about 100 years ago part of Russia, as an “autonomous grand duchy”. No time like the present to set about stitching the old Empire back together.

I processed the picture before I processed the words. I saw two women asking for backup who are being shadowed by a giant man wielding a bloody club, and expected it to be about Roe vs. Wade.

It’s a good cartoon, but I still wonder about the choice to portray both Sweden and Finland as women; both countries have male presidents at the moment, and three of the four NATO representatives are identifiably men (I can’t identify the fourth one way or the other). It was presumably a conscious choice on Breen’s part, but it adds an element that seems out of place to me.

All russia has are dumb and nuclear bombs now.

… and looking at the upkeep of the vehicles that they are using, the nuclear ones probably won’t explode.

Who advised Putin that a hostile military invasion of Ukraine was a good idea? Are they still alive? Just wondering.
