While I like the toon, this started way before Trump and Maga. Maybe work in Gingrich’s 1990 GOPAC memo. You know, the one where he said Republicans should use words like “sick, pathetic, lie, anti-flag, traitors, radical, corrupt” about their opponents, no truth or evidence required. This did not start with Trump.

The Republicans have been devolving for decades. They hate the fact that society continues to go forward. That’s why they try to stop progressive actions.

Tragically, they are all of the above. Out of… what? Stupidity? Ignorance? Hatred? Fear?

I fear it’s all of the above. Dunning Kruger on a national scale.

If they’re now concerned about these voting blocs that need a voice, it’s not virulent, it’s a conscious choice…

Republicans could purge this mutation out of their ranks… IF they want to… so far it appears that few of them want to…

That top left GOPhant just before Trump’s arrival on the political scene was ALREADY a party that put “winning” well above “good for the nation” or even “rule of law”. See Newt (the newt) Gingrich who was, imo, instrumental in starting this particular death spiral… though even he probably was plowing fertile ground.

Did you see the new videos of Trump’s terrorists viciously beating police and trampling a woman to death while they attacked our Capitol chanting, “Hang Pence!”

The Republicans adopted Confederate principles long before they created Q. However, great cartoon to show how Trump in four years accomplished bringing the party to the goal it started under Ronald Reagan.

Here’s a little addendum on the republican “adventure” – Senator Graham has just warned democrats NOT to introduce the testimony of the Q-Anon “shaman” to the impeachment trial. He claims that would cause the impeachment trial to extend for months – and he says this as if it would be a bad thing!

I fail to see how exposing the true culpability of Donald John Trump would be bad at all – as long as we wrap the trial up before 2022. Destroying the Cult of Trump can in no way be considered BAD.

All politicians basically work for their own reelection. They may sincerely believe that their being in a position of power helps people they care about, or they may be simply interested in keeping the job. The result is the same. The voters need to be informed in order to choose the ones who are interested in helping you from the corporate stooges who can then go get a job with their contributors. If you really want to know who a candidate will be working for, look at a site called “Open Secrets”. There are others, but this is a good one. It will tell you who is financing their campaign. We all have to do the bidding of who ever is supplying the money to pay our bills. So do politicians. If most of their money is coming from individuals, unions, or other organizations representing the Middle Class, that is who they are going to work for. If most of their money is from banks, etc, they are going to work for the 1%. They don’t really have any choice if they want to win the next election. To vote their conscience against the 1% would be political suicide.

Read an interesting saying: “Saying tRump ruined the Republican Party is like saying spoiled mayo ruined a pickle and rat sandwich”.

Republicons insist on careening into a cosmic black hole and insist on taking the rest of us with them.
