Tarzan knew he had a slim chance of victory? The Tarzan that pounces on every single lion he sees? Who was the writer of this stuff?

Lion-1: “Hmm. That’s the guy that killed my family and my deceased wife’s family… I’ll treat him with respect and eat him though I normally wouldn’t.”

“… whereupon the lion ate him.”

Well, this is a new one. Play possum, means Lion around and hope for the best that they don’t eat you for breakfast. Talking of which………

That treeck is for bears. Not kitties.

Tarzan coulda gots em both. If only he hads time to digs a pit.

The paying audience is probably going to boo this style of entertainment.

I like how, in panel 1, the lions completely ignore him. It’s not always about you, Tarz!

Tarzan’s monologue put the lions in a stupor.

Will this deceit work ?

Wimoweh wimoweh, the lion killer sleeps tonight.

I suspect that once the lions get a good sniff of his loin cloth, which Tarzan hasn’t changed in years, they’ll be happy to leave him alone.

Tarzan the Ape-Man becomes Tarzan the Possum-Man.

The old “play dead and he won’t bother you” trick. To bad the writer didn’t know that lions will eat carrion.

There was a time whan Tarzanacus could talk to the animals, or was that Dr. Dolittle? C’mon Tarz, calm these kitties down before they tear you to bits, or will now super-gladiator boy Jan save him? Nemone must be really getting off on this and I ain’t lyin’….time for a change of flimsy clothes Queenie!

“Tarzan! It is I, Volthar, here to save you! Take that, savage beast!”
