Too bad the USA doesn’t have a labor party.

There is NO shortage of people who believe in Trickle Down.

Ted hit the bullseye with this one. Dollar General is being sued by former workers, who they made do three jobs, while only paying them to do one. I’m sure there’s a long list of other companies that do this too.

CEOs, etc, make enough money to choke a horse but yet they’re cheap to employees, and go home to their mansions at night, beaming about a bigger bottom line!

Asked boss for training in our new software which was developed by the chosen who got training to develop it and were reticent to share any knowledge. Boss said to go to night school on my dime. I asked him which school taught our system! He gave me the Boss In The Headlight Stare!! I muddled thru till they let me go and I retired.

The Republicans want money to go to the rich rather than the middle class because they are beholden to them—the money to finance their campaigns comes from the rich. They tell the public that it will “trickle it down”, and everyone will benefit. This is the standard Republican rationale for giving money to those who are already rich. Trickle down has never worked, as far as raising the standard of living, anywhere that it has been tried. And, it is completely illogical to believe that it ever could. If you are paying a guy to cut your lawn and he’s doing an adequate job, then you get a tax cut, do you raise his pay? Neither will the 1%ers. The only reason to spend more on hired help is that you need more workers to get the job done. The only way more workers will be needed is if there is an increased demand for product- in other words people are buying more stuff. The only reason people would be buying more stuff is that they can afford it. And, the only reason that more people can afford more is that they are the ones getting the tax cuts, not the rich guys. Trickle down just gives the rich guys more money to hide offshore, or more money to buy more politicians to write laws so they have more money to hide offshore. If you want that money to stay in America, increase production, and raise everyone’s standard of living, trickle UP will do the job, not trickle down.

Nobody whines like a rich person who is not getting richer as fast as they want.

Capitalism is not your friend.

The “PERSONNEL” sign is inaccurate. It should be “HUMAN RESOURCES”, since employees are just the same as printers or cinder blocks.

If we leave it up to capitalism, the employers will have to raise the wages to get the employees they need. For some obscure reason the Democratic Party wants to let illegal immigrants in to provide cheap labor which can be abused and intimidated by employers.

For the first time in ages, workers feel like they actually have power. With the unemployment rate at a record low (although that could change if we end up in a recession), it’s a job seeker’s market. When the Black Plague finally ended, peasants could choose which landlords to work for and the landlords started paying them to till their fields. It’s widely believed that the Black Plague what’s what ended feudalism in Western Europe. In a way, Covid led to the end of people taking whatever job is offered and being grateful for the opportunity. That’s a good thing.
