Political campaigns have become very intrusive 24/7/365!
Other countries give time period, three months, and start with the same amount of money. America campaigns are unfair and not status equal ! Just because one has more funds doesn’t mean he’s the best candidate….
When’s the last time we actually heard about their solution to FIX what’s broken? All we hear are lies, promises and begging for more contributions.
in some ways this Santos character is right when he implied hes no different than the typical politician…his lies are just a bit more.. obvious, I guess you might say.
Lina Khan at the FTC is on it. She has been working on antitrust problems for years and published extensively on it. For example:
(Lina M. Khan, The Ideological Roots of America’s Market PowerProblem, 127 YALE L.J. F. 960 (2018), http://www.yalelawjournal.org/forum/the-ideological-roots-of-americas-market-power-problem.)
My idea is that any amount of individual wealth over $999,999.99 is taxed at 100% every year until every single American has a bank account with at least $100.00 in it. That is, nobody becomes a millionaire until everyone is at least a hundredaire. And nobody becomes a billionaire until everyone is at least a thousandaire.
Even if we had to subsidize every single American by $100 (which we wouldn’t, there are legions of people with at least this much money), the current U.S. population is about 332 million — so just pass out $33.2 billion and the party can begin. I seem to recall just one rich guy blowing $44 billion on a vanity project recently…
Reading Swanson’s review (https://portside.org/2022-10-10/left-needs-take-back-constitution) of Fishman and Forbath’s new book THE ANTI-OLIGARCHY CONSTITUTION: RECONSTRUCTING THE ECONOMIC FOUNDATIONS OF AMERICAN DEMOCRACY I began wondering what would make a good slogan to drive the de-oligarchisation of the Constitution, SCROTUS, and the everyday law.

Every dollar given to politicians needs to be documented and what the quid pro quo is expected to be.

“Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” Matthew 19:24
The logical implication of that verse is that no rich people go to heaven or are actual Christians.

The only problem is that the foxes guard the hen house. It is the big/established companies that are the ones writing the legislation.

I thought perhaps something like
EQUALITY should be between PEOPLE not DOLLARS
Doesn’t really have a ring to it, tho.
