(There were a lot of prolific contributors here in late December of 2021. This painting had 146 Comments! I think several of mine are worth repeating, and I will do so, below.)

/// Vain Sir Percy did not spare the whip.

He was harsh with the men in his grip.

One was sick of his crap.

    Percy woke from his nap

with some permanent ink on his lip.

/// Percy noticed it when he undressed,

and he loved it! It gave his face “zest.”

    He resolved to grow hair

where those lines were drawn there.

Then he saw what was sketched on his chest.

(It was a Great Moment in Phallic Portraiture.)

Fun fact: Henry VI of Reuss smashes a candy bar and creates Reuss’ pieces.

    /// To become the next King was his goal;

for allegiance he’d sell his own soul.

    Johann Drumpft had to know

    who’d support him, and so

he is pictured here taking a pole.

Vlad The Impaler hated it when the artist insisted on him to ‘hold that pose’, when he was working.

    If you’re wondering why he’s the boss/

It’s not only his wicked right cross./

    It’s the hairstyle he took/

    From his friend, Captain Hook/

Fifty wins- and never one loss.

Of course there another (small) thing/

That no other fighter could bring/

    Even right after lunch/

He can take a gut punch:/

It’s the armor he wears in the ring.

    At the moment he’s only a Prince/

At his blows boxing foes scarcely wince/

    But fighting the King/

    Is a different thing:/

    They’ll be easier to convince.

Long curly locks, a pencil-thin mustache, fluffy ruffled collar and cuffs, a swishy sash, body armor, and a thick rod … I wonder if Heinrich is trying to tell us something?

His locks are a wondrous cascade/

    (His opponents are simply dismayed)/

    Along with his friends/

    His stylist attends/

    Wherever he goes to invade…

Baron Heinrich VI of Reuss (1649-1697)

    Paste (including the quote marks)

"Category:1911 oil on canvas paintings" Wikimedia

(syntax supported by the Google, Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, Ecosia, and Yandex search engines) in the browser address bar (or search for it using one of those search engines) and choose the first Category: found, and once there find the text string Graf, and click its link for info and links that point to more info (perhaps best viewed using the Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox browsers, which can automatically translate most webpages if necessary) about this maybe lifesize, 1911 copy, along with a Description

Again, a larger strip image is also shown by merely clicking the image in Mr. Melcher’s THROWBACK THURSDAY: MASTERPIECE #2850 (12/27/21) (March 20, 2024) blog entry, accessible by the Check out the blog! box after the last comment. Other than what’s available from the searched for URL, I could find no additional info about the copyist online. So far, only work by him used here (2 times total, including this Throwback Thursday repeat), the December 27, 2021, strip being its first use.

    They strongly incline/
