In most soccer leagues around the world, bad teams get demoted to a minor league. It’s a big incentive to not be in the basement even if you’re having a bad season.

Wilberforce might have to go to Summer school to make up his grades so he can advance to the next grade.

See? A roll model to his child. I bet he was late a couple of times too.

Was it enough to get him through to the next grade? If so, then he should be fine; but you might wanna get the kid a tutor.

Wilberforce, can you say “summer school”?

It’s all part of that 12 year slump!

I have a feeling he’ll be repeating the same grade come September.

That’s why I hated report card day

Next year will likely be worse.

and maybe he should keep saying it every year till they actually win… not all that encouraging but what else can ya do. :J

Maybe a threat of a trade to the Cubs would motivate him.

My brother was not the best student. When he brought home a report card that had all C’s and D’s my parents were also disappointed. He told them, “Well, I passed didn’t I?” Never went to college. He recently retired from the Navy. Some people just do not do well in school, but will excel in life.

Good one, Wilberforce, but I don’t think that’s what your father wanted to hear.

Reminds me of several years ago. On opening day, Detroit Tiger fans brought out their “wait til next year” signs.

And you still get a pizza party and participation trophy.

Well, Wilbur, if we continue the baseball analogy, the manager of a poor playing team might send some of its worst players back to the minors. So, how does repeating your last grade sound?

I think Brutus should commiserate with Wilberforce on his scholastic results since I am sure Brutus was a rather poor student himself.
