The last time I flew, the stewardess told everyone to put their phones in airplane mode. I didn’t, because my flip phone didn’t have an airplane mode. I didn’t know I was supposed to turn it off. Later she came by and said the pilot was complaining that he was still getting interference from someone’s phone. That’s when I figured it out and turned it off. I also didn’t realize that the phone boosts its signal when up there, trying to connect with a cell tower. My phone almost ran out of juice while I was out of state and I didn’t have a phone charger with me. I do have a smart phone now, so if I ever fly again, I’ll be prepared.

Last time I flew(from Spain to UK) my Spanish phone wouldn´t work in the UK, so I left it at home.

If that Jet is anything like the New York football team, it will most certainly lose power.

I thought airplane mode was so the phone would fly over to me when someone called. No wonder it didn’t work.

Been a while since I flew and didn’t have a phone at that time. I keep seeing stuff on line about wifi on planes. Is it just during takeoff and landing that you have to use airplane mode?

That’s why I always fly by UFO. Way less restrictions, but then again, you do have the probe to deal with, though honestly no more invasive than TSA.
