Back in the day, our jump zone was out in a field with only one hazard, a flag pole right in the middle. When you opened, first thing was to spot that flagpole.

Considering the age of some of the Vets that recreated their parashoot invasion of France in 1944 at the D-Day +50 yrs in 1994. The General, at the time of this strip’s first release would have been one of them. So, yah, he probably would have made it no problem.
