Often, looking the out the window is the most accurate, at least for truly local conditions. But, I like to check on the Doppler radar to tell the movement and location of precipitation.

40-50 MPH winds with copious amount of rain. Regular monsoon out there this am. My normal 20 minute drive to work took about 35 today.

Raining here as well. Better than snow, although I suspect it’s snowing at higher altitudes. Too dark to see the traffic cams though.

Plus gives you the conditions there, not where weather app is reporting it from.
