I need to go dry some banana peels, sprinkle them with nutmeg and smoke some. Far out, man!

I’m involved in double-blind study of a new treatment for hypoglycemia. The test subjects will be given a tablet treated with a concentrated carbohydrate solution; the control group, meanwhile, will receive only an inert sugar pill.

    Wait, what?

Cops would sometimes arrest junkies who were sold oregano or milk sugar instead of real drugs. Had to let them go, but still slapped ’em around for old times sake.

I think I’ll just stick to drugs, who knows what kind of nasty side effects those “Placebo” things might have. Dale Gribble: “Placeeebo.. I think it’s made by Puh-fizer”

Placebos are a gateway drug. It starts innocently enough, with starch pills, decaf coffee, and nonalcoholic wine, but soon, you’re buying herbal supplements at the “natural foods” store, and if you don’t get treatment, you’ll end up hitting the hard stuff: homeopathic medicines.

I remember when the song “Mellow Yellow” broke on the radio. For several days it was almost impossible to find bananas in grocery stores. Morning glory seeds from the right variety do work though although the dosage is hard to control.

Placebos should only be used under strict medical supervision for the treatment of acute and chronic hypochondria.

Isn’t “Placebos” a bit on Steve Martin’s Comedy is Not Pretty album? (And yes, I am indeed an ol’ fart.)

We used to get high as young children by standing on the front lawn and spinning until we got so dizzy we would fall down. (Nothing like the first time though.)

I am firmly anti-placebo. I only hear of people having bad side effects from them – often completely unexpected.
