china will do as it pleases. no one can or will stop the monster we created. besides, who else is going to make all of our stuff? are they still making the berets for my uniform?
“Monster we created”
I’m curious who you think the “we” is? The global consumers?
At any rate, the sooner the world is truly flat, the sooner we will have jobs “returning”. No more need to off-shore or outsource to a cheaper country if we all earn roughly the same (and produce roughly the same type of goods & services).
Robert,
om is right. China and other providers of cheap labor will slowly find that advantage diminishing. The average wage of the Chinese worker is rising. This will start to level the playing field. Shipping distance, government intereference and other factors will start to be more important. Unfortunately, there are a still large number of factors that still distort the international market.
What is up with China 1.3 billion people and nobody can clean the bathroom !
Seriously though China is a couple of bad Crops from fragmentation. All this new infrastructure in China is a facade roads and bridges falling apart the day they are opened.
Coal power polluting so fast that the electricity is a net loss .
. A good commie is a good businessman these days they call it “The Profit Motive”.
I remember a Chinese General commenting on the Taiwan situation that ” We are prepared to lose the Eastern provinces ” 240 million people . push comes to shove this is core politics , they will massacre their own people to maintain control ,
Imagine a civil war with 500 million participants bordering a dozen or more countries . Messy to say the least
now lets get those lavs cleaned up .
