What I really don’t understand is how little attention is paid to nanobodies and the mini-proteins that do much what the monoclonal antibodies that Trump and Ben Carson got that zapped their infections. They are easier and cheaper to make, more stable and can generally be stored as a powder and administered in an aerosol. There are several that have been described in the scientific literature, but as far as I can tell, there have been no clinical trials started. granted, they came mostly from academic labs, not big Pharma. Is it not a big enough profit in such therapies that no company will do the trials and then produce them for everyone? (As you can tell, I don’t have a very positive impression of Big Pharma. In fact, I think they stink.)
