^^ Yeah, France & Italy want to alter the Schengen zone agreement a tad (that’s 25 European countries, 22 of which are EU). Although there has always been an option to temporarily tighten up the border-relaxation agreement in an emergency, Sarkozy & Berlusconi want to broaden the terms on how this can be called. This has come about because of Tunisian refugees.

Just France & Italy pandering to the right-wingers.

Btw, Britain & Ireland aren’t part of the Schengen zone. And my passport doesn’t have that many stamps anymore although I crisscross borders all the time :( (if you ask nicely, border agents at airports in some countries will stamp your passport but the British have repeatedly refused to stamp mine :( )

^ Yes, it would be going backward instead of progressing if Sarkozy & Berlusconi have their way.

All it needs is a line of catapults on the various battlements, with each city trying to offload its unwanted illegal immigrants into the next one… France is currently trying to send Tunisian illegals not back to Tunisia (its postcolonial problem, thank you very much!) but into Britain; Italy is trying to shift its illegals into France: and so on down the line, except that we in Britain seem to be dumping ground of choice for everyone else’s illegals….
