I have a question for Heng – Saudi Arabia is once again asking for “international intervention” as they did on Libya. There are others doing the same, even Heng. Yet you will not see any of their military get involved. Heng, maybe you should put up a son to get shot at – naw, no way. Let America do it- stick it pal.
sorry we have not looked at southern Africa where the muslims have been killing Christian and forcing their religion on everyone I am sorry that is were we should be looking not at some country with civil war
Aside from moral and ethical considerations, and just based on common sense and pragmatism alone, why would the US want to “kick this beehive”? What is the upside for the US?
The downside is not pretty:
Fighting between the rebels and a weakened Syrian gov’t is likely to intensify because the playing field is more level. If the Syrian gov’t falls, we don’t know what will replace it.Fighting may spread to neighboring Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq.Hezbollah may take advantage of the distractions and lob more missiles into Israel.Israel is likely over-react, which will just add fuel to the fire. The price of oil is likely to shoot up due to all the fighting, and weaken the fragile US economic recovery.
It would be good if the middle eastern countries would realize that it is not the west’s responsibility to police their governments or people. Where is Saudi Arabia in all this? They’ve been big on sponsoring terrorism. Why aren’t they stepping up to the plate here.
Remember Assad is a Rat in a Corner. If he feels he is trapped and going to die, he will release everything and let “ALLAH” decide. What would have happened if Hitler had nerve gas?"ah yes, zyclon ‘B’ was only used for ‘delousing’ clothing.
