And this is why you should double check that all doors and windows are secured before attempting to get some sleep…and turn the walkie talkie off. I wonder if some of Spud’s nightmares might be caused by sleeping with a walkie and it playing scraps of random frequencies.

Time to lock Wallace’s bedroom door and windows. That or better adult supervision of the kid…

I love everything about today’s strip! Spud’s comments, Will “free refills” Henry, the flamingo & gnome in the yard(so are those at Spud’s?) and Wallace’s certainty that he will coax Spud out of bed.

I am siding with both A brief walk outside. Then in a warm bed on a cold night.

Definitely gloves – I really don’t like mittens particularly. It has taken a long time for me to realize the value of those perfect nights – I was fortunate during my life that I was out in them on occasion, mostly by accident, and learned to appreciate them. I also value my sleep – but sometimes you have to make the trade.

I don’t think you get a say in the matter, Spud.

Hah! I go for a walk every night regardless of the weather. (Although, The fact that I have a large Lab might have something to do with it)

When we walk at night, we look up and marvel at Mars. And the new resident.

Talk about a Dictator

I’m impressed by Wallace’s observation in panel two. Not many kids his age would connect the lack of moisture with the brightness of the stars, or be excited about it. But he’s got a smart dad.

this is my birthday comic, and apparently I’m destined to rob a small child’s house.

I think Motherdoesstuff is from the UK or some place where what we call the 1st floor here in the US is what they call the ground floor. So the next floor up is called the first floor and we call it the second.

I get that the strip is about Wallace, or at least he is the ostensible star and it’s just a strip, lighten up but he really needs to learn to respect others.

At some point that sort of “exuberance” starts looking a lot like bull-dozing, stops being about wanting to share something special and more about doing what I want, regardless of what you want.

Spud said “No” about as many ways as you can in a 3 panel comic strip.
