It’s like in the movie The Secret of My Success where he’s going from place to place looking for work after he earned a degree in college, and the interviewers are asking about experience, and he should’ve asked how he was supposed to get experience if nobody would give him any.
A few years ago, I felt like I could charge through 70. Now I’m barely 60 and… a cheap, warm place to retire is sounding awfully good, if such a thing exists anymore.
Did they announce the Scavenger Hunt results somewhere and I missed it? The Andrews Mcmeel page about it has been removed. I thought I had read that the results would be out March 17th…
The need for good grades then led Rose to an inferiority complex. And grades became more important than learning, so she learned how to cheat just to maintain the grades, completely forgetting that she was smart all on her own. Then she went to a meh college, majored in the “easy” thing, ending up jobless and trying to figure out her real passion in life. That’s when she started to truly LEARN again without grades as a marker for “success.” She found her passion, started a business, and now realizes that grades never mattered after all.

Or you could just stay in Snug Harbor and dig some clams when you feel like it.

I’m so glad I made it through to retirement! As long as you’re healthy and in decent shape financially, these can be the best years!

Poor kid.

The second panel should read “I want to learn a lot so I’m prepared when I find what I love to do”. Of course the comic would need a new punch line.

So sad. However, opposites do attract and maybe even balance each other out….

Excellent character building strip for Rose. She’s a wonderful addition to Wallace the Brave to bounce off all the silliness.

Rose, take the advice my dad is always telling me about life: “if you’re not having fun, you’re doing it wrong.”

Rose’s parents are not exactly good parents. The poor thing is under too much pressure.

There aren’t many problems in life that can’t be solved by a well placed whoopee cushion and some duct tape.

Maybe she should re-examine her goals…… or even whether or not she should have goals at her age.
