Carl is the kind of friend most people can only imagine they could have.

Well, OF COURSE he’d wear a kilt and carry an axe and a shield! And be compassionate.

The most detailed, realistically drawn character is Wallace’s imaginary friend. Excellent!

In one panel, panel 3, Will Henry has once again proven why WTB is the most positive, caring comic being published today.

You know, giving the McClellan family’s strong Scottish roots, I should’ve figured Carl would likely prove to be a Scotsman…the “man” part of that of course being metaphorical here. :P

I tried to anticipate what Wallace might have as an imaginary friend. I still fell short. Carl is incredible.

I think Carl is a wolf. Google “wolf Scotland” . He has the right ears and nose, and wolves can have a sort of ruff around their neck, or at least enough ruff-like fur that an imaginary wolf could easily have one. (Keep in mind that Gary does not look like the actual bellboys of times gone by).

All those years ago? Wallace is only 6. But I guess when you’re that age, even a couple of years seems like a long time.
