Rats! I thought it would surely be in either the Eastern or Western Hemisphere.

At least we know it is not on the moon.

Now that they have streamlined operations, they just donate it to charity as soon as you check it.

Don’t believe it Zig! I’ll bet all the airline representatives say that today, on April Fool’s Day!

I suppose I was one of the lucky ones. I flew a lot back in the ‘80s-’90s on both military and civilian airlines, and there was only one instance where my luggage was rerouted to a different airport. And in that instance the airline got my bags to me within 2 days.

At least it didn’t go to the moon.

I doubt it’s still even in the same solar system.

When I used to fly commercial I always did the following: Put the address of the first stop on your itinerary on the luggage tags when you depart, pack an overnight bag with 3 days worth of clothing and necessary items. In the bags on an 8 1/2 × 11 or A4 piece of paper the same info as on the tags with your cell phone number AND the phone number of whatever hotel you will be staying at AND your home phone or the phone number of a friend who knows how to contact you on your trip. If you are making several stops have similar tags and sheets made up for each stop. And don’t forget the last one for your trip home. I have never had luggage lost, but a parent of one of my patients many years ago worked for a company that contracted with Oakland, San Jose and San Francisco International airports to reunite (deliver) lost luggage with the passengers in need of them and that was a hint he passed on.
